ONGOING INVESTMENT IN ECO-FRIENDLY TECHNOLOGIES
Careful resource management is one of the key components of our company philosophy. We ensure low-impact manufacturing processes as early as during the development phase for our products. In this context, we regularly invest in innovative production systems and in state-of-the-art, resource-friendly energy supply systems based on latest technologies.
As a result, the efficiency improvements to a central cooling system and the construction of a cogeneration plant at our facility has allowed us to reduce our carbon footprint by around 5,000 tonnes per year. That is the approximate volume of CO2 emissions of a car rounding our planet around 900 times in 12 months. Our practical experience in that area has been so favourable that we are currently planning a second set of installations of the same size and using the same technology for both facilities.
RELIABLE PARTNER IN THE REGION
It is particularly important to us that we ensure the further development of our facility with additional production systems and an increase in traffic volumes for our community in a mutually acceptable way. Our efforts have over the years resulted in numerous open and friendly discussions with the Buchloe town council and a good and close cooperation we are very proud of. In partnership with Buchloe city council, we have developed a highly integrated waste-water concept with the result that our operational waste-water outflow is now used for biogas generation and therefore sustainable energy for the community.
We furthermore do whatever we can to support various projects in the region. These include the initiative “Healthy Breakfast” in kindergartens and schools and the promotion of club sports activities in the areas of cycling, gymnastics, football and volleyball, for which we are sponsors.
WE FOCUS ON SUPPORTING YOUNG TALENT FROM THE REGION
It is our basic understanding that tomorrow’s development will be in the hands of today’s youth, which makes the support of our young talents a very important issue. That is why we create the best possible framework conditions for our trainees to give then comprehensive qualifications for their chosen careers. We have also formed intensive training partnerships with other competent teaching companies in our home region and beyond.
In recognition of his true commitment to company-internal training and his entrepreneurial achievements overall, our managing director Dr. Wilfried Huber was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 2011.
